Sunrise over the Sierra Mountains this morning was gorgeous! As we headed to Lake Tahoe we ran into a lot of condensation coming off the Lake. It really slowed traffic and hid the mountains. It was beautiful though. We traveled through Donner Pass and then took some scenic routes off I-80
Driving thru the Plumas National Forrest we saw many sights. This is the Feather River with another road on the left. It will give you some idea of a little of the elevation we were at. We are not at the summit yet but this was a view we couldn't pass up. There were fall colors mixed in with the pines. They told us this is one of the prettiest times of the year to drive thru the forrest.
We think this is Lasson Peak. We saw it from the Lasson National Forrest. If it is the elevation of the mountain is 10,457 feet. It really is hard to tell where one mountain range stops and another begins.
The next picture is for you to find Roger. He was climbing the rocks when I took his picture. I thought it might give you a little idea of size. This is a rock formation on a very small part of a mountain.
We arrived in Redding CA this evening. Took about 37 pictures just today on our way here. We let Ryla know we made it and will touch bases with her tomorrow. With the two hour difference in time we have not quite adjusted to the change. It is 9 pm here but that is 11 in Iowa so am getting sleepy.
Again so amazed at all God has created. Feel closer to Him each day.
